Post malone

So, most of my photography is aimed at rock music, and often the darker the music, the better shots I get. But I’ve always had a major love for rap music as well. I grew up in the early 80’s when it was just coming into it’s heyday.

Having covered thousands of rock artists over the decades, I finally felt I wasn’t being able to grow, there was no challenge, as if I’d reached a plateau and had leveled out in my style. I then reached out to one of my best friends, who just happened to set up a separate publication other than the one I usually work for when not out under my own name. In no time, I was out at rap concerts, and I was loving every minute of it.

Earlier this summer, then, I was granted a photopass for the festival Lollapalooza Stockholm, where one of the headline acts was none other than Post Malone, and I was super excited to capture his energy on camera.
Man, oh man, he did not disappoint. From the very first second on stage, he was bubbling with excitement and felt as if he was genuinely happy to be there with us. It comes across in the photos, I’d have to say. Playful, charming, and super professional.

Strictly from a technical standpoint, I got exactly the shots I was hoping for. Emotional, quirky, but also one of my fave angles: The super wide shot with my fisheye lens getting the entire stage set in one frame.

I can’t wait to get back in the pit. See you there!
